Strongman Season 2010

Greetings, my loyal fans. It is not with too much pleasure that The King announces that he placed 7th at the recent HomeTeamNS Strongman Challenge 2010.

Despite the disappointment however, you, my loyal fans, still deserve to be filled in on the happenings of Strongman Season 2010.

So, without further ado, let's get it on!

The season started with the Preliminary Round on February 28, 2010, at Jalan Bahar.

After three events (including the SCDF Red Rhino Pull as pictured above) in the unforgiving Sunday morning/afternoon heat, Yours Truly, as expected, qualified for the Top-10.

Which brings us to the Press Conference on 23 March, with news coverage the same night.

The King demonstrating this year's new event - The 500kg Wheelbarrow Race.

Team Iron Behemoths - Samuel "The Hulk" Lim, Ben Ho, and Keith Wong - being interviewed by various media publications.

Team Iron Behemoths featured on the 9.30PM Channel 5 News and also on page 3 in the night's LianHe WanBao.

After all that hype, it was 27 March 2010, @ Toa Payoh HDB Hub - time for the main event:

The Grand Finals of the HomeTeamNS Strongman Challenge 2010: The Battle Of The Strongest!

The King on the mic: Being introduced to the crowd before the start of the event.

As with every year, the show kicks off with the 2.4-tonne Chevrolet Car Pull.

Followed by the 100kg-a-side Log Walk...

...with a slight difference this year: a U-Turn at the 20 meter mark...

...making it a total of 40 grueling meters.

Up next was the Strongman Signature, the 260kg Tyre Flip.

The fourth event for the day, was the new one introduced this year -
The 500kg Wheelbarrow Race...

...which was featured in that night's Chinese News on Channel 8 @ 10PM.

Finally, the show concluded with yet another signature event,
the 2.4-tonne SCDF Red Rhino Pull.

Yours Truly coming in a disappointing 7th place. Not flashing the pearly whites this time.

And so another Strongman Season concludes.

And despite the disappointment, Keith Wong, nonetheless, still wants to thank everyone for their support throughout the entire year. Also, I would like to thank God for giving me the opportunity to train day-in and day-out with Team Iron Behemoths - Naturally Singapore's Strongest! - and of course, for great friends and team mates like Sam The Hulk and Ben Ho.

So the story continues in Keith Wong's quest for the Title; The King is looking forward to yet another year's worth of training hard, eating his vitamins, and saying his prayers - and it begins NOW!

KEITH WONG. Don't be jealous, be INSPIRED.
